Post-Election Posting

I'm very glad that President Bush, Senator McCain, and Governor Palin have been so gracious in what is probably a very distressing time for them. Their graciousness is maintaining the unity and strength of our nation, as we are able to make a peaceful transition of authority, even between people that have very sharply differing points of view. That doesn't always happen in other nations.

In this spirit of graciousness, I join with President Bush, Senator McCain, and Governor Palin in congratulating Senator Obama and Senator Biden upon their election. I may disagree with some of Senator Obama's policies, but as I have argued in my February 11, 2008 post, that only makes it more important that I and all other citizens remain involved in the political process.

I am proud that I can live in a country where the citizens have a chance to choose who will be their legislators, and who will be president, and to make the constitution and laws that they will live under.
