Independence Day
We’ve come to another Independence Day, and it could be a time when we are dismayed and confused by the many trends in our nation that are working against freedom. Although some amount of grief that such things have come to pass may be appropriate, let us be sure to move on from there to doing the things we should do. We should work to maintain the freedoms we have, and even seek to restore our lost freedoms. While doing so, we should work to secure the liberty of all, even those with whom we may disagree. Finally, we should celebrate today, because we have still many freedoms, and because we know that even those freedoms that we have lost once existed, and could exist again.
